Our Model
This Colt Single Action Army revolver comes with the official Colt archive letter, confirming its original configuration and history. Previously restored in the United States, it has been returned to its original appearance, with finishes faithful to those it sported when it left the Colt factory. The frame and hammer have a beautiful, deep-toned case hardening, while the barrel and cylinder display an antique bluing with slight signs of age, giving it an elegant vintage patina while maintaining excellent overall condition. The factory markings on the barrel and frame are clear, consistent with the model, and perfectly legible. The serial number 139XXX attests to a manufacture date of 1891; it is visible on the various parts of the frame, a matching number, confirming the authenticity and consistency of the firearm.
Mechanically, this revolver is flawless, with no play or gaps. It is cocked with the characteristic four clicks, which are clearly defined, thanks to a carefully replaced hammer. Indexing is precise and consistent. The 7.5-inch barrel in .45 Colt caliber shows signs of use, but its bore remains in very good condition, with deep rifling that ensures excellent accuracy. The revolver is fitted with superb, understatedly elegant grips, perfectly fitted, which highlight the clean and iconic lines of this model.
According to the archive letter, this Colt was shipped in 1891 to St. Louis, Missouri—an iconic destination on the American Frontier, adding a further historical dimension to this remarkable collectible firearm from the American West.
