History

Introduced by Remington Arms in 1866, the Model 95 Double Derringer quickly became one of the most popular pocket pistols in the American West. With over 150,000 units produced up to 1935, its success stemmed from its compact design, over-under barrel configuration, and remarkable reliability. Easy to conceal in a pocket or vest, it was carried by travelers, merchants, professional gamblers, and numerous legendary figures of the Wild West. Today, it remains one of the most sought-after black powder pistols among collectors.

Our Model

This Remington Derringer Model 95 remains in a beautiful, original state. The metal parts retain 100% of their original blued finish, showing only slight rubbing marks on the sides of the barrels. The Remington markings, finely engraved on the top of the barrels, are perfectly legible. The serial number (3XX), stamped beneath the barrels, remains identifiable despite slight fading. The famous "ears"—a delicate point on this model—are perfectly intact. The piece is completed by superb mother-of-pearl grips that are in excellent condition and perfectly fitted.

Mechanically, the firearm is in excellent working order. The action cocks crisply, the strike is powerful, and the barrels open smoothly with no play or mechanical weakness. The two .41 Rimfire caliber barrels feature bright bores with deep rifling, along with some signs of use.

This Remington Double Derringer Model 95, featuring a desirable blued finish, is an essential piece for any collection of American black-powder firearms or Old West memorabilia.

The firearm comes with its official classification certificate (Category D), issued by the Saint-Étienne National Proof House.
