Mint Smith Wesson Caliber 38 SW Army and Police Hand Ejector
Smith & Wesson Hand Ejector 1st model revolver, category D weapon, available for sale to adults, sold without accessories.
History
Launched in 1899, this Smith & Wesson 1st model hand ejector revolver, in .38 caliber, marked a decisive step in Smith & Wesson's history. It inaugurated the "Hand Ejector" series of revolvers, named for its revolutionary mechanism for ejecting spent casings and its one-piece frame. Unlike older gate-loading revolvers, this system allowed the cylinder to be tilted to the side, significantly facilitating and accelerating reloading. At the time, this innovation represented a major technological leap. Adopted by the U.S. Army as the "1899 Army & Police Revolver," this model became a military standard. Its production, limited to 1899 and 1900, with only 20,000 units manufactured, makes it a rare and symbolic collector's item in the evolution of modern weaponry.
