Colt New Pocket Double-Action .32 Caliber
History
The Colt New Pocket Model collector's revolver entered production in 1893. It was the brand's first model to feature a swing-out cylinder on a small frame. The New Pocket is considered a precursor to modern Colt revolvers, incorporating improvements in safety and handling. With over 25,000 units produced between 1893 and 1905, it paved the way for the Colt Pocket Model, Police Positive, Banker’s Special, and Detective Special.
Our Model
This elegant Colt New Pocket double-action revolver is in exceptionally well-preserved condition. Its original blued finish remains nearly 100% intact, and the minimal signs of wear lend it a charming vintage appeal. The markings are deeply stamped, fully correct, and clearly visible. Serial number 10XXX, located on the butt, dates the weapon to 1897. Traces of blueing are still visible on the trigger and hammer, adding to the overall elegance. Mechanically, the revolver is in excellent working order, with no play in the lock-up. The 3½-inch barrel—chambered for .32 Colt—features a mirror-like finish and pristine rifling, making this a fully functional firearm. The piece is fitted with original grips in perfect condition, further attesting to how well the weapon has been preserved. This rare, elegant, and accurately dated Colt New Pocket would make a superb addition to any collection of 19th-century American firearms.
