Smith & Wesson Target model in excellent condition
History
Building on its success, the Smith & Wesson No. 3 revolver family expanded to offer a wide variety of models and calibers. Originally designed as a black-powder firearm utilizing powerful metallic cartridges such as the .44 Russian, .44 American, or .45 Schofield, other calibers were subsequently introduced. The Smith & Wesson New Model No. 3 Target is a rare firearm; only 4,333 units were produced between 1887 and 1910, with just 2,920 chambered in .32-44. Among antique American firearms available for sale, these models are exceptionally rare. Prized for both its aesthetics and performance, this revolver is highly sought after by antique firearm shooting enthusiasts.
